What a CrossFit box charges in Spain and how to set your prices
Memberships run between €55 and €120 a month depending on city and format. What decides yours isn't the market average: it's your cost per place and which gap you fill in your neighbourhood.
What's charged today
From the data we handle on Spanish boxes in 2026, the band is this:
| Format | Usual band |
|---|---|
| Unlimited membership (no class limit) | €79 – €120/month |
| 3-days-a-week pass | €65 – €89/month |
| 2-days-a-week pass | €55 – €70/month |
| Single class | €12 – €18 |
| Joining fee | €0 – €60 (one-off) |
The high ends are Madrid, Barcelona and centres with very long hours or added services. The low ends, mid-sized towns and boxes with limited time slots.
Why the market average is no use to you
That's the starting mistake: looking at what the box next door charges and settling a bit below.
That ignores two things that are yours:
- Your cost per place. Rent, coaches, equipment and insurance divided by the places you can realistically fill. That number is your floor, and it depends on nobody else.
- Your gap. A box with one coach per six people and intro classes doesn't compete with an open-floor, open-hours one, even if they're 300 metres apart.
How to work out your floor
It's a division:
(Fixed monthly costs + the margin you want) ÷ (places per class × classes a day × days a month × realistic occupancy)
Realistic occupancy is the key. Nobody fills every class: between 60% and 70% is normal, and the midday ones look nothing like the 7pm ones. If you do the sum at 100%, you get a price you can't make ends meet on.
On lowering the price
Cutting the membership looks like the easy lever and almost never is. It brings people who leave the moment somebody charges less, and it forces you to fill more classes to take the same money — with more wear on coaches and more equipment.
Before touching the price there are two cheaper levers:
- Reply faster. A share of the people who don't sign up aren't going on price: it's that they never got a reply in time. That doesn't cost you margin, it costs you being there.
- Retain better. One more month of average retention is worth more than a price rise, and it scares nobody off.
How to present it
Three pieces of advice worth more than the figure:
- Show it. Hiding the price doesn't filter clients, it filters conversations.
- Make it understandable in one read. Three options at most. Five tiers with small print don't sell more: they paralyse.
- Say what's included. If your membership comes with an initial assessment, follow-up or access to another activity, put it next to the number. Otherwise all anyone sees is the number.
Questions about this
How much does a CrossFit box cost per month in Spain?
The usual band runs from €55 to €120 a month. In big cities and boxes with long opening hours, unlimited membership is usually between €79 and €110; in smaller towns or with limited passes, between €55 and €75.
Is a joining fee worth having?
It depends what it's for. As a filter it works: whoever pays a joining fee has thought about it. As a source of income it's small and it slows sign-ups. If you do have one, it's best that it covers something tangible — the first assessment, the equipment — and that you say so.
