How to answer your box's Instagram messages without living glued to your phone
Instagram is where most people interested in a box come from, and also where they are worst attended. Five things you can set up this week.
Where people come in
In the boxes we work with, between 50% and 70% of interested people write through Instagram direct messages. Not the website form, not the phone: Instagram, after watching a video of a class.
And it's the worst attended channel of all, for a silly reason: the box's phone is with someone who is coaching.
1. Put the price before the question
The number one question is always the same: how much is it?
Many boxes avoid answering it openly for fear of scaring people off. The real effect is the opposite: whoever asks a price and doesn't get it within a while leaves. And whoever gets it and leaves wasn't your client, so you've lost nothing.
Put it in a profile highlight, in the bio link and in the first reply. It saves days of conversation. If you're not sure what price to set, here's the band charged in Spain.
2. The first reply carries a slot, not a brochure
Compare:
"Hi! Thanks for writing 😊 We're a CrossFit box in the neighbourhood with classes Monday to Saturday. I'll send you some info."
with:
"Hi! Unlimited membership is €79/month and the first class is free. I have room on Thursday at 6:30pm and 7:30pm — which suits you better?"
The second one closes. The first opens another turn of conversation that may never come.
3. One place where everything lands
Instagram, WhatsApp, the website form and whoever asks at the desk. If they're in four places, there are four places to forget someone.
What matters isn't the tool, it's that there's one single list of interested people and that you can see at a glance who you haven't answered.
4. The second message at 48 hours
Of the people who don't reply to your first answer, a considerable share come back if you write once more two days later. A short message, no pressure:
"Hi Marta! Does it suit you to try this week, or shall we leave it for next?"
It's the message nobody sends because nobody remembers. Automating it is one of the highest-returning things there is.
5. Something that replies when you can't
The four things above can be done by hand and they work. The fifth can't: there is no human way to reply at 11:40pm every day and still coach at seven in the morning. That's exactly the line of what's worth automating.
That's where an assistant comes in that knows your prices and your schedule, replies in seconds, asks what you would ask and books the trial class. That's Zunox, and that's exactly the gap it fills.
Start with the cheap one
If you can only do one thing this week, do number 1. If you can do two, 1 and 2. The rest follows on its own once you see how many conversations were falling through the cracks.
Questions about this
Should the box price be on Instagram?
Yes. Hiding the price doesn't filter clients, it filters conversations: most people who ask the price and don't get it quickly leave without pushing. Making it visible means whoever writes already comes with the figure accepted.
